December 1976 was a bad one for British racing weatherwise, as the long hot summer gave way to a harsh winter with many cards lost to the elements. What a shame that this outstanding Ascot card was abandoned. The standard of declarations was superb. Here are the racing cuttings from that day in the Daily Mirror of 18-12-1976.
